(with punning allusion to στάσις B. 1.1), οἱ τοῦ ὅλου σ. the partisans of 'The Whole', opp. οἱ ῥέοντες, Pl.Tht.181a; σ. τῆς φύσεως καὶ ἀφυσίκους, of Parmenides and Melissus, who denied motion, Arist. ap. S.E.M.10.46.
