A mix, esp. wine, οἶνόν τ' ἐγκεράσασα πιεῖν Il.8.189; τρεῖς μόνους κρατῆρας ἐγκεραννύω Eub.94.1 (cf. ἐγκίρνημι) ; ἐ. τι εἰς ὄνομα Pl.Cra.427c:—Med., mix for oneself: metaph., concoct, πρήγματα μεγάλα Hdt.5.124; ἐγκεράσασθαι παιδιάν mix in a little amusement, Pl.Plt.268d, cf.
