   A vessel employed in solemn processions, mostly pl., And.4.29, D.22.48, 69; πομπείων ἐπιστάται IG12.379.7, cf. Philoch.124; at Rome, the apparatus of a triumph, D.C.43.42; πομπεία σκευή is dub. (leg. πομπεῖα [σκεύη]) in D.S.12.40: sg., of a wax bust of Cleopatra carried in triumph, D.C.51.21; πομπείου τυχεῖν to have one's image carried in procession, Aristid.2.38J.    II at Athens, storehouse where such vessels were kept, D.34.39, D.L.2.43,6.22.
