Dor. δᾱρός, ά, όν, (cf. δήν)
A long, too long, δηρὸν χρόνον Il. 14.206, h.Cer.282: more freq. δηρόν (sc. χρόνον) as Adv., all too long, Il.2.298, etc.; also ἐπὶ δηρὸν δέ μοι αἰὼν ἔσσεται 9.415, cf. Musae.291: freq. with neg., οὐδέ σέ φημι δ . . . ἀλύξειν Il.10.371, cf. 2.435, etc.: Trag. use only Dor. form, πολὺν δαρόν τε χρόνον S.Aj.414 (lyr.), cf. A.Supp.516, E.IT1339; δαρόν alone, A.Pr.648, 940, S., etc.; also δαρὸν χρόνου πόδα time's lingering foot, E.Ba.889 (lyr.).
