   A of or belonging to λόγοι:    I versed in tales or stories (cf. λόγος v), λόγιοι καὶ ἀοιδοί Pi.P.1.94, cf. N.6.45: hence of chroniclers (opp. poets), Περσέων οἱ λόγιοι Hdt.1.1; Αἰγυπτίων -ώτατοι Id.2.3, cf. 4.46; so later, οἱ -ώτατοι τῶν ἀρχαίων συγγραφέων Plb.6.45.1, cf. 38.6.1, D.S. 2.4, D.H.5.17, etc.    2 generally, learned, erudite, Democr.30, etc.; λ. περὶ τὴν ὅλην φύσιν Arist.Pol.1267b28; ὁ λ.
