   A landsman, Luc.Ind.19; ἄγειν ἀπειρώταν [ἰχθύν] to treat it as a landsman, Theoc.21.58 (prob. l.); ἵπποι Philostr.Im.1.30.    II Subst. -ώτης, ὁ, dweller on the mainland, opp. νησιώτης, Hdt.6.49, cf. 1.171, Isoc.4.132: fem.
