   A drink neat wine; hence, breakfast, because this consisted of bread dipped in wine (Ath.1.11c sq.), Ar.Pl. 295, ubi v. Sch., Canthar.8: c. acc., ἀ. κοκκύμηλα to breakfast on plums, Ar.Fr.607; μικρόν Aristomen.14: metaph., c. gen., ἀμιγοῦς ἠκρατίσω σοφίας Ph.2.166:—later in Act. -ίζω, fut. -ιῶ, entertain at breakfast, τοὺς ἐφήβους Inscr.Prien.113.41: metaph., ποτιζέτω καὶ ἀκρατιζέτω ψυχάς Ph.1.103.
