   A an insect like a τέττιξ, Epil.4 (where τιττιγόνιον cod.Phot., the alphabetical order requiring τιτιγόνιον; τρυγονίῳ codd.ACAth., cf. ζῷον ὅμοιον τέττιγι καὶ τριγονίῳ Eust.1282.40), prob. cj. in Arist.HA556a20 (where τεττιγόνια, with v.l. τριγόνια, cf. τιγόνιον· εἶδός τι Ἀριστοτέλει, Hsch., τιγόνιον· ἐπὶ νηπίου τίθεται, Phot.); the word is correctly written in EM760.47, Paus.Gr.Fr. 87 (ap.Eust.396.2, where it is rightly connected with τιτίζω: it is prob. Dim. of Τιτιγών (τιτιγών: τιτίζω, = ὀλολυγών: ὀλολύζω, = τρυγών: τρύζω)). (Perh. to be restored for tetogonia, v.l. tetigometrae, in Plin.HN11.92.)
