   A covering, robe, mantle, δίπτυχον ἀμφ' ὤμοισιν ἔχουσ' εὐεργέα λώπην Od.13.224, cf. Theoc.25.254, A.R.2.32:—also λῶπος, εος, τό, Alc.Supp.18.2 (dub.), Hippon.3, Anacr.80, Herod. 8.36, Theoc.14.66, Ps.-Luc.Philopatr.22.—Only poetic in class. writers, though prose writers have the derivs. λώπιον, λωποδύτης.
