A destruction, κατακονὰ ἀβίοτος βίου E.Hipp. 821 (lyr.).--The v.l., supported by Sch. (cf. EM50.25, Eust.381.22), κατακονᾷ . . βίος, implies a Verb κατ-ᾰκονάω, wear away, as is done in whetting steel.
