   A eminence, bank, hill, first in h.Ap.17, Sapph.Supp.13.11, Pi.O.9.3, freq. in Hdt. (9.25, al.), A. (v. infr.), and E., as Ἄρειος ὄ. IT 961 of the Areopagus, cf. Hdt.8.52; of a barrow or mound, A.Pers. 647, 659 (both lyr.), Ch.4: rarely, like ὄχθη, of a river's bank, v. ὄχθη sub fin. (ὄχθῳ ἐφεζόμενοι παρ' Ἕβρον ποταμόν Ar.Av.774 need not be taken in this sense).—In A.Ch.954, dat. ὄχθει (as if from ὄχθος, εος, to/) is corrupt.    II tubercle in leprosy, Aret.SD2.13, Ruf. ap.
