חָזָק

κατὰ τὸν δεύτερον, φασί, πλοῦν τὰ ἐλάχιστα ληπτέον τῶν κακῶν → we must as second best, as people say, take the least of the evils
from חָזַק; strong (usu. in a bad sense, hard, bold, violent): harder, hottest, + impudent, loud, mighty, sore, stiff(-hearted), strong(-er).
