      verb transitive

      P. and V. κυκλοῦσθαι, περιβάλλειν, V. ἀμπέχειν, ἀμπίσχειν, περιπτύσσειν, ἀμφιβάλλειν; see surround.

      be spread round: V. ἀμφιβαίνειν (acc.).

      stand round: P. and V. περιίστασθαι (Euripides, Bacchae 1106), V. ἀμφίστασθαι.

      be round: P. περιεῖναι (acc.), περιέχειν; see enclose.
