[ΕΤΥΜΟΛ. Το επίρρ. έχει προέλθει από τη δοτ. ενός αμάρτυρου ουσ. πανοικεσία < παν- + -οικεσία (< θ. οἰκέτ- του οἰκέτ-ης με συριστικοποίηση του -τ- + κατάλ. -ία), πρβλ. απ-οικεσία, κατ-οικεσία. Ο τ. πανοικησίᾳ < παν- + οἴκησις.
