Thus he pants out his life in gasps: V. οὕτω τὸν αὑτοῦ θυμὸν ὁρμαίνει (Aesch., Ag. 1388). I pant out hot breath in gasps unsteadily: V. πνοὰς θερμὰς πνέω μετάρσιʼ οὐ βέβαια (Eur., H.F. 1092).
