   A cask or jar, Ar.Pl.546, Ion Trag.10, BCH50.214 (Thasos, v B.C.); used for storing figs, etc., D.30.28, Pl.Com.114, Thphr.Sign.49, OGI483.149 (Pergam., ii A.D.); οἰκεῖν ἐν ταῖς φιδάκναις live in casks, as the poorer Athenians were forced to do during the Peloponn. war, Ar.Eq.792; π. ἰατρική a medicine-jar, Gal.19.115, cf.
