Do not say aloud what you mean: V. ἃν λέγῃς . . . μὴ φωνεῖ μέγα (Soph., Phil. 574).

My master prayed the contrary, speaking not the words aloud: V. δεσπότης ἐμός τἀναντίʼ ηὔχετʼ οὐ γεγωνίσκων λόγους (Eur., El. 808).
