   A kind to strangers, hospitable, ἀνδρῶνας εὐ. δόμων the guest-chambers, A.Ch.712; λιμὴν εὐξεινότατος ναύταις E. Hipp.157 (lyr.). Ep. Adv. ἐϋξείνως A.R.1.963, 1179.    II πόντος εὔ. the Euxine, now the Black Sea, Hdt.1.6, al., E.IT125 (lyr., codd., sed leg. Ἀξείνου); and so εὔ. (leg. ἄξ-) οἶδμα Id.HF 410 (lyr.); εὔ. πέλαγος Pi.N.4.49; ὁ Εὔξεινος alone, Str.11.1.5; cf. ἄξενος: εὔξεινος is a euphemism, like Εὐμενίδες.
