Ep. for ἀείρομαι, only in 3pl. pres. and impf.,
A hang floating or waving in the air, αἰγίδα... τῆς ἑκατὸν θύσανοι . . ἠερέθονται Il.2.448; of a flight of locusts, 21.12; of flying-fish, Opp.H.1.435; ἓξ χεῖρες ἑκάστῳ -ονται A.R.1.944: metaph., ὁπλοτέρων ἀνδρῶν φρένες ἠερέθονται young men's minds turn with every wind, Il.3.108.—The form ἀερέθονται in Hsch., cf.
