[Seite 1471] drückt eigtl. den Kuckucksruf aus, ὁπόθ' ὁ κόκκυξ εἴποι κόκκυ Ar. Av. 505; übh. ein Zuruf, wie Ran. 1380, μὴ μεθῆσθον πρὶν ἂν ἐγὼ σφῷν κοκκύσω, nachher κόκκυ μεθεῖτε, kuckuck laßt los. In der Stelle der Av. wird als sprichwörtlich angeführt κόκκυ, ψωλοὶ πεδίονδε, auf ins Feld, die VLL. erkl. ταχύ; in B. A. 105, 22 οὐδὲ κόκκυ, ἀντὶ τοῦ οὐδὲ βραχύ.
