ἡ, also οἴσῠπος, ὁ,

   A the grease extracted from sheep's wool (οἴσυπος· τὸ ἐκ τῶν οἰσυπηρῶν ἐρίων λίπος Dsc.2.74, cf. Plin.HN29.10), οἰσύπῃ (v.l. οἴσπῃ, q. v.) προβάτων Hdt.4.187 ; οἰσύπη αἰγός Hp.Mul.2.195 ; used for medicinal purposes, Dsc. and Plin. ll.cc.: —freq. confused with οἰσπώτη (q. v.).
