   A delude, deceive, τὰ πλήθη Ph.1.1.    2 puff up, ἑαυτόν Id.2.569, cf. 215:—Pass., Plb.16.21.12.    II Pass., vanish into smoke, εἰς καπνὸν ἐκτυφοῦται Dsc.1.68.2; but perh. ἐκτύφεται shd. be read; ἐκτύφονται is v.l. for -τυφοῦνται in Id.1.68.5.
