   A μιμνόντεσσι Il.2.296; later Ep. impf. μίμνασκον Orph.L.108:— stay, stand fast, in battle, Il.13.713, 15.727, etc.    2 tarry, μετόπισθε μιμνέτω, ὥς κε κτλ. 6.69, etc.    3 of things, remain, σόα μ. Od. 13.364:—Med., κλέος . . μίμνεται ἀθάνατον Epigr.Gr.265 (Crete).    4 of things, remain, be left for one, ἐμοὶ δὲ μ. σχισμός A.Ag.1149, cf. 154 (lyr.).    II c. acc., await, esp. an enemy's attack, οὐδ' ἄρα μιν μίμνον Il.5.94, etc.; of time, ἠῶ δῖαν ἔμιμνεν 9.662, etc.; πλόον ὡραῖον Hes.
