A = εἴκελος, like, τινί, the masc. freq. in Hom. (esp. in Il.), but only in phrases ἐ. ἀθανάτοισιν, θεοῖς ἐ., Il.1.[265], 4.394, Od.24.36, etc.; so θεοῖς ἐπιείκελα τέκνα Hes.Th.968.
