ἀργῐνόεις: εσσα, εν, = ἀργός (ὅ ἴδε), ὁ λευκὴν ἐκπέμπων αἴγλην, οὗ ἡ λευκότης λάμπει μακρόθεν, ἐπίθ. τῶν πόλεων Καμείρου καὶ Λυκάστου, ἀλλὰ δὲν δύναται νὰ εἴπῃ τις μετὰ βεβαιότητος ἂν ἔλαβον τὸ ἐπίθετον τοῦτο ἐκ τοῦ λευκοῦ ἐδάφους ἐφ’ οὗ ἔκειντο ἢ ἐκ τῶν λευκῶν αὐτῶν οἰκοδομῶν, ἴδε σημ.
