A worm-eaten, ῥίζαι Thphr.HP 9.14.3, cf. IG22.1628.163, al., 1672.306; κεραῖαι θριπήδεσται ib.1628.205, but -οι 1629.328. 2 σφραγίδια θ. seals made of worm-eaten wood, Ar.Th.427, cf. Sch. 3 metaph.,= διεφθαρμένη, Hyp.Fr. 82. (Freq. corrupted to -έστατος, as in Ar.Th.l.c. (ap. Suid.), Hyp. l.c. (v.l.), Luc.Lex.13 (v.l.), cf. Paus.Gr.Fr.205, but a Sup. is never necessary exc. in Thphr.HP3.8.5 (v. θριπώδης).)
