   A = τύμπανον (chiefly poet., also in Arist. Ath.45.1, Phld.Mus.p.49 K.), drum, h.Hom.14.3, A.Fr.57.10 (anap.), E.Hel.1347 (lyr.), Diog.Ath.1.3, AP6.165.5 (Phal.). [τυμπ- is read against the metre in E. l.c., A. l.c. codd.Str., Diog. l.c. codd. Ath.]    II = τύμπανον 11, ὁ ἀπὸ τοῦ τ. nickname of one Lysimachus who at the last moment escaped execution, Arist. l. c.; ἄξιοί εἰσι τυχεῖν πάντες ἑνὸς τ. AP11.160 (Lucill.); τύπανα is metrically possible in Ar.Pl.476, and is required there by the alphabetical order in Suid., as is τύπανον in Hsch.    III = crusta, Gloss.    IV name of a street, BGU9 i 7 (iii A. D.).
