ὁ, Elean ϝέτας (v. infr.), in Hom. always in pl. ἔται, οἱ:—

   A clansmen, i.e. kinsmen and dependents of a great house, ἀμύνων σοῖσιν ἔτῃσι Il.6.262; δαινύντα γάμον πολλοῖσι ἔτῃσιν Od.4.3; παῖδάς τε κασιγνήτους τε ἔτας τε Il.6.239, cf. Od.15.273; ἔται καὶ ἀνεψιοί Il.9.464; ἔτας καὶ ἑταίρους 7.295; γείτονες ἠδὲ ἔται Od.4.16.    II later, citizen, ἔταις ἀμαχανίαν ἀλέξων τεοῖσιν Pi.Pae.6.10, cf.
