A splinter, in form σχινδαλμός Hp.Mul.2.133 (σκινδαλαμός, σχιδαλαμός, etc. in codd.); σκινδαλμός, Dsc.1.18. II metaph., λόγων ἀκριβῶν σχινδάλαμοι strawsplittings, quibbles, Ar.Nu.130, cf. Ra.819, Luc.Hes.5; so σκινδαλμούς Alciphr.3.64:—cf. ἀνασχινδυλεύω.
