A.R. l.c., etc.; σκόπελος AP11.31 (Antip.); ὀδούς Opp.C.3.442.    II of flavour, astringent, sour, acid, μέλι AP4.1.22 (Mel.); σταγών ib.9.561 (Phil.).    III metaph., harsh, severe, cruel, ἐφέται A.Pers.79 (lyr.); Κόλχοι Orph.A.1012.
