A not to be spoken, unutterable: hence, horrible, ἀναυδάτῳ μένει A.Th.897 (lyr.); ἄφατον ἀναύδητον λόγον E.Ion783. 2 unspoken, impossible, οὐδὲν ἀναύδατον φατίσαιμ' ἄν S.Aj.715 (lyr.). II speechless, Id.Tr.968 (cj.).
