(A) or ἀμός [ᾱ], ή, όν, Aeol. ἄμμος Alc.105A, Milet.3 No. 152.35,

A = ἡμέτερος (cf. ὑμός for ὑμέτερος, σφός for σφέτερος, A.D. Pron. 111.18), freq. used for ἐμός, Il.8.178, Od.11.166, etc.; esp. in Dor., Pi.P.3.41, 4.27, Theoc.5.108; Lacon., Ar.Lys.1181; Cretan, GDI 4952D23, etc.; Sicilian, IG14.952 (Agrigentum); also Trag., A.Th. 417, Ch.428, S.El.279, Ph.1314, etc. (Written ἀμός when = ἐμός by Demetr.ad Il.6.414; but the distn. is not observed.)
ἁμός (B), [ᾰ], old word equiv. to τις, only in Adv. forms ἁμοῦ, ἁμῆ, ἁμοῖ, ἁμῶς, ἁμόθεν, ἁμόθι, and in compds. as οὐδαμός, Hdn.Gr.1.169. (

A sṃ-, cf. Goth. sums (some one), suman (sometime, once).)

German (Pape)

[Seite 128] = τις, einer, nur noch im comp. οὐδαμοί u. in den adv. ἁμῆ, ἁμοῦ, ἁμῶς, ἁμόθεν. Dor. = ἡμέτερος, unser, Hom. Iliad. 6, 414. 8, 178. 10, 448. 13, 96. 16, 830 Od. 11, 166. 481; wie ἡμέτερος, so braucht Homer auch ἁμός von einer Person, das possessiv. des plur. für das des sing.; wie er überhaupt oft den plur. statt des sing. gebraucht. Vgl. Apollon. lex. Hom. 27, 18 Scholl. Iliad. 6, 414 (Herodian.). 8, 178. 13, 96 (Herodian.).
