   A one armed with a shield, warrior, Hom. (in Il.) always in gen. pl. ἀσπιστάων, Il.4.90, al.:—as Adj., ἀσπισταὶ μόχθοι τευχέων, i.e. the shield of Achilles, E.El.444 (dub.l.).
