   A = σκνίψ, small creatures which infest fig and oak trees and devour the fig-insect (ψήν), Ar.Av.590, Arist.HA534b19, Thphr.HP2.8.3, 4.14.10; small ants acc. to Arist.Sens.444b12.    II pl., = ὄμματα περιβεβρωμένα, Hsch.
