   A firm, lasting, stout, of wood, Hes.Op. 429 (Sup.); of persons, διθρόνου Διόθεν . . τιμῆς ὀχυρὸν ζεῦγος Ἀτρείδαιν A.Ag.44 (anap.): but elsewh. A. uses ἐχυρός (q. v.).    2 of places, strong, secure, παρθενῶνες E.IA738; esp. as military term, of a stronghold or position, strong, ὄρος X.An.1.2.22; χωρίον ib.1.2.24, Isoc.9.30 (v.l. ἐχ-) ; πόλεις Plb.7.15.2; τὰ ὀ.
