   A -σῠρῶ Hsch. :—Pass., pf. παρασέσυρμαι and aor. 2 παρεσύρην [ῠ] (v. infr.) :—sweep away, carry away, of a rapid stream, [Κρατῖνος] πολλῷ ῥεύσας ποτ' ἐπαίνῳ διὰ τῶν ἀφελῶν πεδίων ἔρρει καὶ τῆς στάσεως παρασύρων ἐφόρει τὰς δρῦς κτλ. sweeping the oaks from their stations, Ar.Eq.527 ; τοῦ ῥεύματος ἡ ὀξύτης πολλοὺς . . παρέσυρε D.S.17.55 : metaph., of orators, τῷ ῥοθίῳ τῆς φορᾶς . . ἅπαντα . . π.
