φρύγετρον: [ῡ] τό, (φρύγω) ἀγγεῖον ἐν ᾧ ἐφρύγετο ἡ κριθή, πιθανῶς ὅμοιον πρὸς τὸ νῦν ἐν χρήσει (τουρκ.) «καβουρντιστῆρι» τοῦ καφέ, οὗπερ αἱ χύτραι κρέμανται καὶ τὸ φρύγετρον Πολύζηλος ἐν «Διονύσου γοναῖς» 1. ― Κατά τινα διάταξιν τοῦ Σόλωνος ἡ νύμφη ἔπρεπε νὰ φέρῃ φρύγετρον κατὰ τὴν γαμήλιον πομπὴν ὡς σύμβολον τῶν οἰκιακῶν καθηκόντων. «Σόλων δὲ τὰς νύμφας ἰούσας ἐπὶ τὸν γάμον ἐκέλευσε φρύγετρον φέρειν σημεῖον ἀλφιτουργίας» Πολυδ. Α΄, 246, Ϛ΄, 64· οὕτως ἐν Ῥώμῃ αἱ νύμφαι farreum praeferebant (πρβλ. confarreatio), Phn. 18. 3.
