   A striking its prey near or on the ground, name of a certain hawk, opp. μετεωροθήρας, Arist.HA620a31.    II χαμαιτύπος πόρνη, = Lat. scortum, Gloss.; but αἱ χαμαιτύποι is prob. f. l. for αἱ χαμαιτύπαι (corr. Wendland) in Ph.1.345, cf. χαμαιτύπη.
