Diomed, the son of Tydeus, and one of the most brilliant of the Homeric heroes. Book E receives its title from his exploits (Διομήδους ἀριστείᾶ), but they are prominent elsewhere also. Diomed and Glaucus, Il. 6.119-236. He returned in safety to Argos, Od. 3.180 ff.
