   A overgrown with fennel (Str.3.4.9), Od.7.80, Hdt. 1.62, etc.: Μαραθῶνι at M., Ar.Eq.781, etc.; Μαραθῶνάδε to M., And.1.107; Μαραθωνόθεν from M., Aristid.2.218J.:—Adj. Μᾰρᾰθώνιος, α, ον; Μ., τά, festival in celebration of the victory of Marathon, D.H.5.17.
