A serve, work for hire, LXX To.2.11:—so in Act., Hld.1.5. II of public officers or characters, canvass, intrigue for office, οἱ ἐριθευόμενοι Arist.Pol.1303a16 ; cf. ἐξεριθεύομαι. 2 later Act., generally, compete with, τινι Sch.S.Aj.833 : abs., indulge in petty intrigue, Eust.1162.23.
