Έγ', ὦ ταλαίπωρ', αὐτὸς ὧν χρείᾳ πάρει. Τὰ πολλὰ γάρ τοι ῥήματ' ἢ τέρψαντά τι, ἢ δυσχεράναντ', ἢ κατοικτίσαντά πως, παρέσχε φωνὴν τοῖς ἀφωνήτοις τινά –> Wretched brother, tell him what you need. A multitude of words can be pleasurable, burdensome, or they can arouse pity somehow — they give a kind of voice to the voiceless.

later form of ἀπεχθάνομαι, Theoc.7.45, Lyc.116, AP5.176 (Mel.), Plu. Marc.22, etc.; for in E.Hipp.1260 ἐπάχθομαι is the better reading; and the inf. ἀπέχθεσθαι freq. found in codd. should be written ἀπεχθέσθαι, cf. ἀπεχθάνομαι.
