C. 3, 24, 23; Plin. 24, 9, 38, § 59; Plin. Pan. 20, 2; Tac. Agr. 4; id. A. 1, 33; Val. Max. 9, 1, 2. —Hence, person.: Castĭtas, the goddess of Chastity, = Minerva, Pall. 1, 6, 14.—
