Ruin: P. and V. φθορά, ἡ, διαφθορά, ἡ, ὄλεθρος, ὁ. Damage: P. and V. βλαβή, ἡ, βλάβος, τό. Make havoc of: P. and V. συγχεῖν, πορθεῖν, διαπορθεῖν, ἐκπορθεῖν; see injure, ruin. The gods make havoc of them (fame and prosperity) tossing them to and fro: V. φύρουσι δʼ αὐτὰ Θεοὶ πάλιν τε καὶ πρόσω (Eur., Hec. 958).
