   A couch, bed, Hom. (esp. in Od.); λέκτρονδε to bed, Od.8.292: also in pl., Il.22.503, Od.20.58, etc.; Arc. for κλίνη acc. to AB1095.    II later, mostly in pl., marriage-bed, Pi. N.8.6 (sg.); παρθένοις γαμηλίων λ. ἀπείροις A.Fr.242; λέκτρων εὐναί Id.Pers.543 (anap.); λέκτρων κοῖται E.Alc.925 (anap.); κοίτας λέκτρον Id.Med.436 (lyr.); but τὸ δυσπάρευνον λ. S.Tr.791: hence γῆμαι λέκτρα τινός wed one, E.Med.594; λέκτρα προδοῦναι, αἰσχῦναι, etc., Id.Or.939, Hipp.944, etc.; ἀλλότρια, νόθα, δοῦλα λέκτρα, of illicit connexions, Id.HF345, Andr.928, Ion819; cf. λέχος.    2 the fruit of marriage, a child, Agathyll. ap.
