and τέλεος, α, ον, in Trag., Att., and Dor.also ος, ον, A.Eu. 382 (lyr.), Pl.Phlb.67a, Arist.EN1153b16, SIG265 (Delph., iv B.C.), etc.: the form τέλειος is alone used by Hom., neither form in Hes.; τέλεος is alone used by Hdt., exc. in 9.110; in Trag. and Att. both forms occur; Att. Inscrr. up to the end of iii B.C. have only τέλεος, IG 12.76.39, al., and τέλεος, τελέως, τελεῶ are recommended by Thom. Mag.p.358R.; τέλειος first in IG22.2314.51, al. (early ii B.C.), freq. in Papyri (PCair.Zen.429.13, al. (iii B.C.), etc.), but the neut. used as Adv. is sts. τέλεον (BGU903.12 (ii A.D.), etc.,
