A Νίκας ἐν ἀγκώνεσσι πίτνων Id.N.5.42, cf. I.2.26, A.Ch.1056, Ag.1128 (lyr.), E.Hec.23, al.: impf. ἔπιτνον, poet. πίτνον, B.16.6, S.OC1732 (lyr.), etc.: πιτνῶ is given as pres. by Gramm., as Hdn.Gr.2.290, and πιτνεῖς is found in codd. of E.Heracl.77; but cf. Sch.Il.16.827; forms with -ον- from -εο- are not found (προσπιτνοῦμεν, v.l. in S.OC1754, is unmetrical).
