1) досл. иметь тяжелую голову, перен. быть тяжелым (μῆλα καρηβαρέοντα κορύμβοις Anth.): καρηβαρῶν ἄτρακτος Anth. веретено, конец которого обмотан большим количеством шерсти;
2) ощущать тяжесть в голове, страдать головной болью (ὑπὸ τοῦ σάλου Luc.); быть оглушенным (ὑπὸ τοῦ ψόφου Arst.);
3) (тж. τὴν κεφαλὴν κ. Arst.) опускать (ронять) голову (на грудь): τῷ σώματι καρηβαρῶν καὶ σφαλλόμενος Plat. уронивший голову и пошатывающийся (от тяжелого удара).
