II as substantive τετρώβολον, τό, tetrobol, four-obol piece, τετρωβόλου τοῦτ' ἔστιν (as Kuster for τετρώβολον) Ar.Pax254, cf. Plb. 34.8.8, SIG982.15 (Pergam., ii B.C.), etc.; it was a soldier's daily pay, hence τετρωβόλου βίος a soldier's life, Paus.Gr.Fr.307; so in masc. τετρώβολος, of a common soldier, Men.Pk.203.
