   A δαρδάψῃ Opp.H.4.628; inf. δαρδάψαι, Hsch.: pf. δεδάρδαφα, Id.:—devour, of wild beasts, Il.11.479, Hp.Ep.17, etc.; κτήματα, χρήματα δαρδάπτουσιν, they devour one's patrimony, Od.14.92, 16.315, cf. Ar.Nu.711; δ. με πόθος Εὐριπίδου Id.Ra.66: in late Prose, Luc.Nec.14. (Perh. dissim. from *δαρ-δṛπτω, cf. δρέπω.)

Bei Homer dreimal, in der Form δαρδάπτουσιν: Iliad. 11, 479 ὠμοφάγοι μιν (ἔλαφον) θῶες ἐν οὔρεσι δαρδάπτουσιν; ματα (κτήματα) δαρδάπτουσιν ὑπέρβιον, οὐδ' ἔπι φειδώ. – Folgende: τὰς πλευρὰς δαρδάπτουσιν Ar. Nub. 711; übertr., τοι ουτοσὶ πόθος Εὐριπ ίδου με δαρδ. Ran. 66; auch sp. D., wie Strat. 62 (XII, 220). – Hesych. hat das perf. δεδάρδαφε.
